Bach like you have never heard it before!
On Friday, December 13th at 7:30 PM, we invite you to experience a unique concert experience: the legendary Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by Irina Lankova in the exceptional setting of the Galerie Patinoire Royale Bach.
Join us for a concert in comfortable lounge chairs, a private visit of the Gordon Matta-Clark exhibition before and enjoy a glass of champagne afterwards.
For nearly 300 years, the Goldberg Variations have continued to fascinate with their inventiveness and timeless beauty. According to legend, Bach composed them in 1741 at the request of a Russian ambassador, Count Kaiserling, who suffered from insomnia. The work begins and ends with the same Aria. Between the two, there are 30 variations of unparalleled originality.
Irina Lankova needs no introduction. An internationally renowned pianist, she performs on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Cidades des Artes in Rio, and many more. Described by international critics as a pianist with a “genuinely poetic touch”(The Independent), an “infinite palette of colours”(La Libre Belgique), and a “golden tone” (Pianist), she creates an exciting and poetic concert experience.
